Graphic barcodes in the form of a series of vertical lines of varying thickness and spacing. They are usually used for graphic representation of text information or numeric value, with subsequent application of this pattern on documents, correspondence, product packaging, labels. Often the numeric or text value encoded in a graphic barcode is applied directly under the code itself. Barcode is designed for quick scanning of data with subsequent downloading for decoding into a special program, and the same data in the form of numbers or text (if present) allows you to read the code without a scanner and, if necessary, enter it into the program in manual mode.

The detailed decoding of a particular barcode depends on the type of application and often on the internal product accounting or document management system of a particular application, in a particular enterprise. A barcode contains only a numeric or alphabetic code that a particular program matches in a particular database.
